Tarot Spread: Improving Your Relationship with Your Pets

With Valentine's Day coming up, we're encouraged to celebrate love in all its forms. From platonic friendships to romantic love to self-love. But what about love for our furry companions? Yes, we can celebrate our animal soulmates too on Valentine's Day!

This was a quick spread based on the Me, You, Us tarot spread that I reimagined for improving and strengthening our relationship with our pets!

I have also included a sample tarot reading based on my relationship with my cat Sassy.

1. How you feel about the relationship with your pet? This card can show the good, the bad, and the neutral. How you feel as a pet parent, how you see your fur baby, or your feelings how the relationship is going.

2. How your pet may feel about the relationship with you?

This card MAY indicate what your animal friend thinks of you or your relationship. Remember, this information is not 100% definite and requires a cautious approach. Unless of course you can speak to your animal...

3. How can you improve or strengthen your relationship?

This card can give you a next step, a gesture, or even what to focus on with your pet that will either improve or strengthen the relationship.

My reading with Sassy:

Sassy looking up at me while we sit in the recliner.
Sassy and me. I absolutely adore this picture of us! <3

1. How do I feel about my relationship with Sassy? Eight of Swords — I feel like I'm not as good of a pet mom as I say I am. But really, there is no evidence to back this claim up. I'm overthinking about a bad day when I lost my patience with Skittles and yelled at her. I feel like I failed Sassy or let Sassy down when I yelled at Skittles for pounding on my bedroom door.

2. How does Sassy feel about me? The Hierophant — She respects me. She also feels like we have this "meant to be" kinship. She sees me as a good provider and a stable figure. She thinks we have an understanding beyond "words".

3. How can I improve or strengthen my relationship with Sassy? Queen of Swords — She likes it when I have conversations with her, not baby talk. She is very intellectual and can understand me. She also would love more independence and to let her "be" more instead of calling out for her wondering where she is every five minutes. She likes her space and freedom too!

In summary: Sassy respects me as a person and wants to be my consultant. She wants to be informed and talked to like I'm talking to humans instead of baby talk. Sassy is an old soul cat. She probably has telepathy 🤣 Sassy is an intellectual, intelligent cat. She definitely does not see my shortcomings with Skittles as a terrible mom or think I'm a bad cat parent.

Now, go cuddle up with your fur baby and pull some cards! Share your reading with me!
