New Moon in Virgo: Let's Get Our Sh*t Together!

Surprise! You get an additional blog post this week! Since I took the week of August 11th off, I thought I would do a Saturday blog post in honor of the New Moon in Virgo on Saturday, August 23rd.

Virgo rules the sixth house in Astrology which is our day-to-day life, our habits, our routines, our jobs, and our health. Virgo is a Mutuable sign with Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Pisces is their sister sign/opposite sign. Virgo and Gemini are both ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury rules communication. While Gemini is the more talkative sign, Virgo is more of a thinker. Virgos are naturally good writers where Gemini's are better public speakers.

The new moon in Virgo will have us in our planner era for the lunar cycle. We will be all about to-do lists, health check-ups, and setting clear, actionable goals.

I did a collective tarot reading for the new moon in Virgo. And it is spicy!! Let's take a look at the cards!

What is the overall mood the collective is feeling during the New Moon in Virgo? Knight of Cups -- The Knight of Cups is someone who romanticizes their life. They're creative, flirty, charming, and enjoy the finer things in life. They may be a little daydreamy or ungrounded. So perhaps, we're also feeling daydreamy and ungrounded and want to escape this reality. Can we wake up already? Virgo season is about focus, refinement, and actually harvesting what we've been growing. If we're too caught up in fantasy, we may miss the opportunity to bring things into fruition. We're enjoying the softness and romance of the moment, but we must not float away entirely. We need to anchor our dreams into actual plans.  We need to stop escaping.

Where the collective needs realignment: This is the area the collective is out of sync with Virgo's grounded, detailed-oriented flow. We drew the Wheel of Fortune reversed. We're fantasizing about change, but we're still not taking any action. The universe is like, "I have blessings upon blessings for you but you're staying where you're at, in bed and scrolling Tik Tok." Upright, this card wants us to embrace the flow of life. Reversed, we are avoiding it. We're overly comfortable where we are. We're clinging to safety, being immensely cautious, and sometimes, resisting the shifts altogether. We've stalled the engine. This new moon in Virgo is asking us to stop hiding from the universe and start co-creating with Jupiter's expansive energy. We're feeling stagnant in pretty much all areas of life. And it's because we're too busy circling the same comfortable patterns.

Opportunity for collective growth -- What can emerge if the collective embraces this lunar cycle? We drew The Empress reversed. We can work on ourselves. We've been neglecting the garden within. We've been so focused on external results that we've skipped the daily nurturing that makes true abundance sustainable. This new moon in Virgo gives us an opportunity to mother ourselves. To show up for our healing like we would for someone we deeply love. When we take care of ourselves and heal our traumas, follow through with promises we keep for ourselves, and do the inner work, the collective will flourish. Because as we work on ourselves, we heal each other. Our abundance comes in together.

Guidance for this lunar cycle -- The Chariot -- The Chariot is our cosmic pep talk: keep going. You must not give up. No more coasting, no more drifting into daydreams. It's time to grab the reins and move forward with intention. Don't deny parts of yourself that feel messy, bad,  shadowy, or unacceptable. You need to dive into your shadow and embrace it. You must not be afraid of the darkness that is in you. Own your darkness the way you own your light. Own your contradictions. Your light is dazzling because your shadow plays against it. Return to balance. This lunar cycle supports this process with discipline and clarity. Use this grounding energy to move through uncertainty with confidence. This isn't about perfection; it's about alignment. And when your light and shadow work together rather than against each other, you become an unstoppable force!
